MONTAIN BIKING IN THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC

We have some very nice tours for beginners and advanced mountain bikers. The mountains surrounding Sosua/Cabarete have a lot to offer. There is something for everybody from the bone hard mountain biker to the just for fun rider. It is a absolute must for every nature lover.

We usually start our tours at 8 am or even earlier, because the temperature is still not as hot.

DOWNHILL TOUR WITH LUCH AND TUBING

We start at 8 am from the beach of Sosua and load the bikes on the car and let us drive to the top of the mountain, la Cumbre where you have a stunning view over the Cibao valley (second most fertile valley in the world). You have the choice between a coffee or fresh chocolate.  After this the fun begins and we go downhill through the magical valleys and enjoy the stunning views over the backland of the Dominican North coast. There are just a few parts where it goes up all the rest is downhill. Once we arrive in Los Brazos we go to our wooden house overlooking the river where you can swim or make a tour with tubes. Enjoy a typical Dominican lunch cooked on open fire. The car brings us back to the Beach.

CHOCO LOCO / PANARAMA VILLAGE TOUR

We start at 8 am from Sosua beach and go to Casa Linda entrance of the CAMINO EL CHOCO road, going uphill on dirt road for apr 10 km with a high difference of 350 m enter into the Dominican backland and having some stunning views over the mountains, crossing over the top of el Choco and start to go down toward the long downhill overlooking Panorama Village Sosua. Stunning views over the ocean and the mountains.

Total tour apr 35 km and the highest point is more then 350 m over the starting point. Only for good bikers looking for fun. 2.5 to 3.5 hrs.

Only of the roads are very dry

MOUNTAIN VIEW TOUR

We start at 7:30 am at the beach of Sosua and go to the Buena Vista road,  the dirt road starts to go up through the nice valley  leading to  Madre Vieja, having a short stop and continue. After this it storts to cross over the mountains and gets to a point where you have beautiful views of the bay of Sosuaand Puerto Plata.

A hard drive but worth the effort.

Total tour apr 40 km and the highest point is more then 350 m over the starting point. Only for good bikers looking for a very good ride. 2.45 to 3.5 hrs.

RIVERADVENTURE TOUR

We start at 8 am from the beach and go to the Bella Vista,  over dirt roads to the Yasica, where you have to carry the bike trough 50 m wide river (the water can come up to your hips). After this you continue on the bike and enjoy a beautiful ride passing typical Dominican land, with Coco trees and a lot more. Cross again some smaller rivers and get back to the road coming to our small wooden house where we have a Dominican  lunch, cooked on open fire. You have the choice to go on the river with tubes and enjoy 1 hr. tubing on the river, very relaxing.

At the end it is your choice to drive back with the bike through the mountains (very tough) or go back with the car.

Our specialty is the Atlantic to Caribic ocean trip crossing the whole Dominican Republic. This trip takes at least 6 days and goes through the nicest part of the Dominican mountains. The highest point is 2100m over the sea level. This tour is only for real bikers who would like to see a lot of the Dominican Republic. Sometimes we sleep in tenth in front of the fire place.
